London Fashion Week Day Four – Burberry Prorsum

Burberry Prorsum

With inspiration obviously coming from the previous menswear collection the range was covered in brightly coloured brush strokes. The trademark trench coats were included but in chiffon with floral art painted on. The neutral shades were accompanied by rich aubergine, avocado and earthy browns. Large Aztec and Burberry checked blankets wrapped around the models portrayed a slightly global bohemian feel to the show. The selection of fabrics used increase this international impression with soft chiffons, lace and wool all thrown together. British designers are not best known for taking consideration of the weather elsewhere in the world but Burberry has made this a vital. There want their collection to be worn all over the world and for this to happen it needs to be versatile. Even the models were some of the most intercontinental we have seen, Neelam Joha – Burberry’s first Indian model, Xiao Wen Ju, Sung Hee Kim, Suki Waterhouse and our very own best of British Cara Delevingne. The finale was spectacular with all the models swathed in cashmere blankets with their initials inscribed on.
